It was a hard decision whether to watch this or not as I really like the movie and the ratings for episode was 5.6, the lowest I ever seen but at the end I still watched episode 1. As the movie was really successful the drama version was trying not to follow exactly the same path as the movie.
It was great that the start was not the same as the movie version otherwise it would be a copy and there’s no point in watching it. I really like Seto Koji I think he’s cute but casting as Hiro who is rebellious, he’s too cute for it. The funny thing is his face is cute but he would act a tough face out. For the female lead Erena Mizusawa, I never heard of her (maybe she’s a new actress) different angles give me different thoughts about her. So she looks pretty and okay from the different angles.
The really disappointing thing in the first episode was that they didn’t have the part where Mika found Hiro’s phone and they began talking on the phone where Mika doesn’t know the opposite’s identity. I thought that part was very romantic and it was what grabbed my like to watch the rest of the movie. But the end part of episode 1 was cute, where Hiro took Mika to his favourite place.
Episode 1 kind of moved very fast, Mika already fallen for Hiro and Hiro confessed to Mika. At the end of the episode they both hold hands expressing that they are together. It would be better if they dragged a bit showing how Hiro develop a feeling for Mika instead of just a quick seen where he saw her in the library sewing his bear that was hanging on his phone.
I didn’t know that guy who likes Mika in episode 1 was Miura Shohei until I saw his name on the casting list. I totally did not recognise his at all.
Episode 2 is out and the rating only increased by 0.3, I don’t know how this will go on as I’m wondering how they will manage this kind of story and extend it to a 11 episodes drama (I’m not sure if it’s 11 episodes but usually jdramas are around that number). I have a feeling that it might be a bit draggy later on and get quiet boring.
So overall, I might and might not continue watching this drama. It all depends if I’m bother to or have an interest in it.
