Tenshi ga Kureta Mono a.k.a The Gift From Angel, is a wistful high school romance starring heartthrob Kagimoto Akira of Lead and Shimizu Yuki of Bishoujo Club 31. The film is based on popular mobile phone novelist Chaco’s bestselling work which sold over one million copies in Japan. Adding to the eye candy factor of this youth romance is the supporting cast of Seto Koji from The Prince of Tennis Musical and Tokunaga Eri from Hula Girls.
Mai (Shimizu Yuki) is a normal high school girl, full of dreams and hopes for new encounters and exciting adventures. Through her friend, she meets handsome Kagu (Kagimoto Akira), but her first impression of him couldn’t be worse. He is rough and rude, and the two seem to end up quarreling every time they see each other. And yet, as they see each other more and more, Mai discovers Kagu’s softer side and they slowly fall for each other. Both are too stubborn to express their feelings for each other properly, and they painfully let opportunity brush by every time until one day something unexpected happens.
Finally watched this movie, before I read the storyline of it and thought it was pretty interesting but when I actually saw it I thought it was alright. I really don’t like Mai, although she likes Kagu but because of him leaving to some town for awhile she accepted her ex-boyfriend Izamu Hayama (Seto Koji) confess and they started dating. I was surprise to see Seto Koji in this movie as I never heard of it before, he’s very cute. Anyways, they broke up because Mai still likes Kagu. Although both of them likes each other but they never openly talked about it. She then goes off finding another guy and because that guy resemble Kagu so she was attracted to him. When she got dumped by that guy it seem like she want to go back with Kagu. It just feels like all she wanted was a boyfriend to love her so she wouldn’t feel lonely. And when Kagu finally confessed to her she rejects him.
The ending was very expected, a typical love story ending. Kagu died in a car accident, I guessed right when Mai’s face changed after receiving that call from her friend. Why do they always have to make one of the main character die, it’s like old tricks.
I spotted w-inds. Works Vol.1 poster hanging on her wall. I remember I have that poster too before but it’s all rip.
